Notarized translations

 

You need a notary certification of the translation of a document issued in a foreign language? We can offer you a notarized certification!

 There exist the following types of notarized translation:

  • Certification with the original of the document – the source document goes together with the translation, which is confirmed by the translator’s signature, which, in its turn, is certified by a sworn notary.

In this case the translation consists of:

  1. The original (source) document;
  2. The translation of the document;
  3. The text of the notary certification of the translation.

All the listed parts of the document are bound together, numbered and stamped.

  • Certification with a copy of the document – a copy (extract, duplicate) of the original (source) document is made, and the translator’s certified translation in the necessary language attached. The sworn notary certifies the derivatives (an extract, a copy or duplicate) and the attached translation only in the case, when the original of the document is presented.

In this case the translation consists of:

  1. The derivative of the document,
  2. The duplicate certification text,
  3. The translation of the document,
  4. The text of the notary certification of the translation.

All the listed parts of the document are bound together, numbered and stamped. 

 

To make a notarized translation of a document, the document should be drawn up in accordance with the valid legal requirements. 

 

In the case when the the laws and regulations do not require a notarized translation, it is possible to certify the translation with the translation certification issued by the translation agency (agency certification). In this case the translation is certified by the translation agency with the translator’s signature and the stamp of the agency.

As mentioned above, at present, in accordance with the current laws and regulations, translations can be certified by a notary (notarized translation) or the translation agency (agency certification).Please note, that at the moment, in accordance with current laws and regulations, the sworn translator's institute does not exist in Latvia, subsequently, sworn translator's service is currently not possible either.
